SUSTAIN-6G at 6GFORGE – ETSI, EURECOM Sophia Antipolis & Online
From 13 to 15 April 2025, the 6GFORGE – ETSI 6G Monday event took place at EURECOM Headquarters in Sophia Antipolis and online. The event brought together researchers, industry representatives, and stakeholders to discuss the future of 6G networks, with a focus on technological, business, and sustainability aspects.
SUSTAIN-6G Presentation
As part of the conference program, Mauro Boldi, Project Manager at Telecom Italia, delivered a presentation on “SUSTAIN-6G Overall Presentation, with a Focus on Relations with Hexa-X-II on Sustainability.”(PDF) The talk highlighted how SUSTAIN-6G is driving sustainable innovations in 6G, showcasing collaborations and synergies with the Hexa-X-II project to address environmental, societal, and economic sustainability dimensions.
A key discussion point was the environmental impact of 6G, raising the question: could sustainability be the main benefit of 6G? This perspective sparked dialogue on how energy-efficient architectures, eco-design, and responsible innovation can position 6G as a truly sustainable next-generation network.
Event Impact
The presentation reached an audience of approximately 400 participants, including industry professionals (around 100 attendees), researchers, and policymakers across Europe. Attendees engaged in discussions on sustainable network deployment, cross-project collaboration, and innovative technologies that support Europe’s Green Deal goals.
